Abstract & ICM Photography – Outer Hebrides
Creative photography for me is a way of being free, experimental and expressive. It's a way of seeing differently and creating a scene that feels both ethereal and artistic. I use a combination of techniques, including ICM and multiple exposure, and feel this type of photography creates something unique. It allows me to step away from the literal view in front of me and focus more on movement, colour and emotion. There's no pressure for perfection, it's about responding to whatever the landscape is doing in that moment and letting instinct take over. Some images end up soft and dreamlike, others more abstract and textured, but each one carries a sense of the place and the conditions in a way that a traditional photograph sometimes can't. Creative work like this keeps me curious, keeps me experimenting, and reminds me why I love picking up a camera in the first place. I also enjoy to find beauty in the smaller details and can spend hours photographing sand patterns, it always interesting to see the shapes and faces that emerge.
