A Fresh New Space for Hebridean Photography in Stornoway
Hebridean Prints, Gifts and Workshops in Our Stornoway Gallery
Our photography gallery on North Beach Street is a place to slow down, step in out of the weather, and explore the landscapes of Harris and Lewis through still images. After a recent refurbishment, our gallery now feels brighter, cleaner and more open, a calm place to take your time with our work. The walls carry a wide range of mounted and framed prints in different sizes, from small pieces perfect for gifts to large statement prints for the home. Alongside the prints, we also stock travel‑friendly gifts and our Harris & Lewis Photography Book, a collection of seascapes, landscapes and atmospheric moments from across the islands. Alongside our mounted and framed pieces, we also offer prints that can be rolled and tubed, a simple option if you’re travelling light or want something easy to carry home. We ship internationally too, so if you discover a piece you love while visiting the islands, we can send it safely to you wherever you are.

Our new layout gives the images more room to breathe. Natural light and clean lines make it easier to see the detail in each print, the texture of Atlantic swell, the quiet of a calm morning, the weight of weather moving across the ocean A screen now runs additional images and short footage from around Harris and Lewis, offering a wider sense of place and the changing conditions that shape the islands.
Upstairs, we’re opening a dedicated space for a range of small, practical workshops from printing to image and video editing. The aim is simply to give people a relaxed place to build confidence with their workflow, whether that’s preparing files for print, brushing up Lightroom and Photoshop skills, or learning how to shape short video pieces for creative projects or for promoting your business.
The print workshops will share the full process I use in‑house as a PermaJet Brand Ambassador from file preparation to paper choice and producing final prints. The image‑editing sessions will focus on developing a clean, consistent workflow in Lightroom and Photoshop, working with colour, tone and detail in a way that suits your own style. And the video‑editing sessions will offer a straightforward approach to creating simple, effective clips using the footage you already have, whether that’s for social media, small business content or personal creative work.
We also offer 1:1 photography tuition for anyone who prefers a more focused session, and our small print and editing workshops can be added on if you want to build a fuller day around your visit. They’re an easy way to make the most of your time here, and they sit naturally alongside our other workshops if you want to shape a session that suits what you need. As a NiSi Filters UK Ambassador and award‑winning photographer, I share the same practical, on‑location techniques I use across Harris and Lewis, keeping everything straightforward and adaptable to your own approach.
Whether you’re visiting the islands for the first time or you live here and want to explore the landscape through a different lens, the gallery is a relaxed space to browse, ask questions and discover new work. If you’re planning a trip to Stornoway, you’ll find us on North Beach Street, a short walk from the harbour and easy to drop into while exploring the town.
